The Willock House
Allegheny West National Register Historic District
705 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh PA 15233
A true piece of Pittsburgh history, the nearly 8,750-square-foot Willock House sits in the Allegheny West neighborhood. Built in 1891, this Chateauesque-style home is one of only 18 surviving grand mansions from the more than 130 estates that defined the area during Pittsburgh’s Gilded Age.
After sitting vacant for more than 25 years, the mansion had fallen into serious disrepair. Fortunately, the property was rescued and later underwent a comprehensive historic rehabilitation by Q Development.
Our restoration preserved the building’s original architectural character while integrating modern systems and amenities, returning this historic residence to active use.
Fun Facts:
- The home was originally a wedding gift to Alice Jones Willock and her husband William from her father, B.F. Jones of Jones & Laughlin Steel, who lived next door.
- The Willock House is across the street from Allegheny Commons, Pittsburgh’s oldest park.
