Homestead Masonic Hall Lofts is a 20-unit multifamily community located in the heart of the Steel Valley, just a quarter mile from The Waterfront. Designed by architect Maximilian Nirdlinger and built in 1917 by local Freemasons, the building served as a civic meeting hall before sitting mostly vacant for more than 20 years.

Q Development’s adaptive reuse project breathed new life into that vacant space by creating one of Homestead’s first modern market-rate apartments in generations. Each residence pays homage to the building’s history with a unique floor plan and preserved historic elements such as terrazzo flooring, high ceilings, exposed brick, and large windows.

• The lobby preserves the original Freemason tile design, while a loft balcony once used for ceremonial meetings serves as a quiet reading area for residents.
• The cornerstone is emblazoned with the original completion date and likely contains a time capsule, as is common for buildings built by the Freemasons.
