The McNally and Bonn Buildings will feature the renovation of two historic buildings in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District on the corner of 8th Street and Penn Avenue, across the street from the historic Benedum Center. The buildings will be designed into a mix of market rate studios, one bedroom, and two bedroom apartments as well as a 3,300 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.

The exterior design is predicated on ensuring the historic integrity of the existing buildings while integrating artistic new elements into the city’s urban core. The renovation and rehabilitation will preserve the brick and stone facades and revitalize the corner of 8th Street and Penn Avenue. The exteriors will be restored to their former state, and the interior will be renovated and modernized using modern materials and equipment.

The project is designed to fit harmoniously with the existing historic structures and to fit with the overall historic feel of the Cultural District.
